2025 Golf Course Industry summer editorial assistant program

Golf Course Industry magazine is seeking a highly motivated, open-minded and creative journalist and/or content creator to fill its 2025 summer editorial assistant position. Because we’re creative, we don’t call this position the i-word.

Our ideal candidate is a college junior or senior journalism, communications, English or turfgrass management major available to work 35 to 40 hours a week between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for 12 weeks. The editorial assistant position will include roles such as writing feature stories and news articles, contributing to our social media accounts, editing and proofreading, podcast production and the opportunity to visit golf courses nearby. Outside of the journalistic role, the editorial assistant will learn lifelong lessons for career development and success, whenever your career journey takes you.

Golf Course Industry is a leading publication in the golf course maintenance industry, providing engaging content for our network. We carry over 21,000 followers on X, post regularly on Facebook and are building up our LinkedIn. We’re also looking to raise our video presence in 2025 and beyond.

Our previous editorial assistants have used their experiences with Golf Course Industry to help launch rewarding media and publishing careers. In fact, our 2024 participant Kelsie Horner joined our team as assistant editor immediately after she graduated from Kent State University last summer.

“The results prove this is a great opportunity for a young person to grow a career by covering an awesome industry and working alongside a talented team,” Golf Course Industry publisher + editor-in-chief Guy Cipriano says. “We’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing young people the past four summers, and we can’t wait to add another unique voice to our team this summer.”

To apply for the summer editorial assistant role, please send a resume, cover letter and three examples of published work to Brittany DeFelice, bdefelice@gie.net. This is a paid position.
