The active ingredient in Pinpoint is mandestrobin, a new strobilurin (Qol) fungicide that specifically controls dollar spot. Pinpoint is highly effective against dollar spot on turf.

"The unique and targeted activity that Pinpoint delivers against dollar spot is a boon to superintendents and their ongoing pursuit of pristine turf," said Steve Jedrzejek, marketing manager at Nufarm. "Pinpoint fits multiple spray programs from early season through late season wherever dollar spot control is needed."
Pinpoint, developed by Valent in conjunction with Nufarm, has been under field development with numerous university researchers since 2006. When compared to industry standard fungicides in university trials, Pinpoint has delivered proven performance in controlling dollar spot.
"We're excited to be able to supply superintendents with an additional tool to help them keep their greens and fairways healthy and dollar spot free," said Jason Fausey, Director of Technical Services, Turf & Ornamentals for Nufarm. "Pinpoint provides powerful dollar spot control, provides excellent turf tolerance, and enhances the stewardship of disease management programs."
Pinpoint is labeled for use on turf and lawn sites, including golf courses, lawns around residential, institutional, public, commercial and industry buildings; parks, recreational areas, athletic fields, and sod farms.
Pinpoint is a member of FRAC group 11 and is best used preventively in a rotation program. It provides an additional management option for dollar spot and an excellent rotation partner for other classes of chemistry such as Spectrum Succinate Dehydrogenase Inhibitors (SDHI) fungicides, helping to optimize all the tools available in a comprehensive disease resistance management program. Pinpoint is available through Nufarm.
