Heritage Landscape acquires Winfield United’s PPG

The move expands Heritage into 32 states and adds more than 170 staffers to the growing company.

Heritage Landscape Supply Group acquired WinField United’s Professional Products Group. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Winfield United is a wholly owned subsidiary of Land O’Lakes, Inc.

PPG is a leading green industry distributor that provides technical expertise, solutions and service across golf, sports fields, lawn care, ornamental, pest control, aquatics and vegetative management. PPG operates 16 distribution locations across 12 states, including five new states for Heritage.

PPG will continue to be led by Scott Gault, along with its experienced sales and operations team. PPG will transition its name to Heritage Professional Products Group and continue to provide the same service from the same team determined to be the top solutions-driven distributor partner in the industry.

“We are proud to team up with PPG and announce our new partnership,” Heritage president Matt McDermott said. “Heritage has grown organically and expanded its platform offering in turf and ornamental products over the last several years. The opportunity to join forces with the entire PPG team greatly enhances our market position and adds a strong talent base of the industry’s best sales professionals and operators. We are excited to add more than 170 professionals from PPG to our growing family as we cross the 200-location mark and continue building our legacy in the green industry.”

WinField United Seed and Crop Protection VP Andy Braunshausen added that, “Our hope for the sale is to provide WinField United with additional resources to invest in growth within our core sectors, while pairing PPG with a great partner that will prioritize the business for growth in their portfolio.”
