#GCITweetUp19: Star search in Southern California

Nominations for the eighth annual Super Social Media Awards presented by GCI and Aquatrols open through Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019.

November 30, 2018

Sun. Sand. Coastal serenity. And social media.
The industry’s brightest indoor show returns to San Diego as GCI and Aquatrols will present the eighth annual Super Social Media Awards at the 2019 Golf Industry Show. We’re asking our readers, followers and listeners to provide the stars for the Southern California celebration by nominating peers who offer social media inspiration and innovation.
Nominations for the Super Social Media Awards are open from Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 until Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019. The awards recognize individuals and organizations who do the best job of using social media to communicate about their programs, practices and industry at large. Winners will be honored during #GCITweetUp19 at 3 p.m. PDT Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 at Aquatrols both #3845 inside the San Diego Convention Center. The celebration begins at 2 p.m. with a happy hour and live music in the expanded booth.
Industry professionals will be honored in six categories: Best Overall Use of Social Media, Best Twitter Feed, Best Blog, Best Use of Video, Conservation Award and John Kaminski Award for Leadership in Social Media. Winners will be announced in January and recipients will receive their awards at #GCITweetUp19. The Conservation Award, presented for the first time last year to The Bear Trace at Harrison Bay’s Paul Carter, recognizes industry professionals for implementing and communicating effective environmental conservation strategies.

Judging will be conducted by the GCI editorial staff and a panel of industry experts and educators. Readers are encouraged to nominate others or nominate themselves. Multiple nominations in the same or different categories are acceptable. Please include the category and appropriate links to senior editor Guy Cipriano at gcipriano@gie.net or @GCIMagazineGuy. Email, tweet or call Cipriano at 216-393-0230 with questions.
