CourseCo announces leadership transition

Michael Sharp named CEO as founder Tom Isaak becomes chairman.

CourseCo, a Northern California-based golf course management firm with facilities in three states, has named Michael Sharp as Chief Executive Officer. As part of a planned management transition process, company founder Tom Isaak, 70, becomes CourseCo’s chairman.
Sharp, 43, joined CourseCo nearly 15 years ago. Sharp is a PGA professional and partner in CourseCo. He attended Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento and graduated from Sacramento State University. Sharp has held various leadership positions within the golf industry.

CourseCo is one of the leading golf course management firms in the United States and now operates 33 golf properties. Founded in 1988, the company is a recognized leader in municipal and public course management, as well as for its innovative and environmentally sustainable course management practices.

Sharp’s executive team also includes Tom Bugbee, vice president of operations, and Lance Merrihew, vice president of marketing and sales.

Reporting to Sharp and the executive team will be the company’s senior operations managers, who will have significant support roles for courses where they are currently assigned, as well as providing leadership and resources at other CourseCo-managed properties:
