Building on the success of the inaugural 2019 North American Women in Golf event, Bayer is planning a virtual event this year that will take place Sept. 16-18, 2020. Applications are being accepted through Aug. 10.
The event will be a celebration of creating community, fueling passion and supporting the growth of women in the golf and turf industry. The three-day event includes educational sessions for a new 2020 class of recruits as well as 2019 alums, with a nationally known keystone speaker, learning sessions focused on professional and personal growth, networking opportunities with speakers and attendees during panel discussions, and a virtual happy hour.
“Women may only account for a small percentage of the golf and turf industry, but the number of women in these industries is growing. We are excited to be part of that growth and to present this opportunity for women to connect and share their experiences,” said Mike Hirvela, customer marketing manager for Bayer Golf. “At Bayer, we believe that diversity and inclusion make for a stronger industry, and this event is just one example of our commitment to both.”
The event is open to superintendents, assistant superintendents and other women in golf course maintenance and turf roles across the United States and Canada. Those who want to apply to participate must be 18 or older. The 2020 Women in Golf class members will be notified on or around Aug. 31.
