Barenbrug hires turf product manager

John Rector comes from Ewing Irrigation.

Barenbrug USA has hired John Rector as the Company’s Turf Product Manager. “We are very pleased to have John on board…he brings us a great knowledge of the professional turf industry including sod production, chemistry and fertilizer knowledge along with a great understanding and history in the grass seed business” said John Walther, Barenbrug Vice President of Professional Turf products. Rector will be engaged in many aspects of Barenbrug USA’s turf program providing technical sales support for Barenbrug USA’s group of territory managers, and working closely with the Company’s turfgrass research program in coordinating new products for the US turf market. Rector will also represent Barenbrug USA as its liaison to the RTF Turf Producers Association.

Rector was most recently with Ewing Irrigation and supported their Pacific Northwest Turf Products sales/marketing/and technical efforts. Rector has actively worked in the Turf and Landscape industry for the past 32 years with positions held at Pacific Sod in California, Turf-Seed of Oregon, and JR Simplot’s BEST Fertilizer and Jacklin Seed. During this time, he has actively participated in the TPI, STMA, and many other industry organizations.

Rector has a Bachelor of Science in Ornamental Horticulture from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo and was an active Turf and Landscape Pest Advisor for 20 years in California.

Rector and his wife, Jenifer, live in Canby, OR. An active soccer referee for the past 25 years, he enjoys all things turf and horticulture.
